Terms of Use
Effective date: December 1, 2025
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of GlobalThreatSignal (https://globalthreatsignal.org/), including the website, data feeds, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Nature of the Service
The Service is a research project. Threat events, analytics, maps, classifications, and other content are provided for general informational and research purposes only. Content may be generated, curated, or reviewed by humans and automated systems.
2. No Warranty, Guarantee, or Promise
The Service, including all products, services, features, and content, is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the owners, operators, maintainers, contributors, and partners of GlobalThreatSignal make no warranty, guarantee, or promise of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation regarding:
- availability, uptime, or continuity of service;
- accuracy, completeness, timeliness, reliability, or fitness of information;
- performance, quality, compatibility, or non-interruption;
- security, error-free operation, or freedom from vulnerabilities or harmful components;
- results obtained from the use of any feature, feed, or API.
3. Limitation of Liability
You assume full responsibility for any decisions, actions, or omissions based on the Service. GlobalThreatSignal and its owners/operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or other damages, losses, claims, liabilities, costs, or expenses, whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, arising out of or related to use of (or inability to use) the Service, including reliance on any threat event, source, map output, alert, or API response.
4. Registration, Support, and Donations
As stated on the Register/Support page, this is a research project and financial contributions are treated as donations. Paid support tiers may provide additional access features, but do not create any warranty, guarantee, or service-level commitment. There is no guarantee of continuous availability and no guarantee that all information is accurate or true at all times. Users and organizations may cancel subscriptions at any time; refunds are not provided.
5. Acceptable Use and Access Methods
You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. Access to structured data and event content for reuse, integration, or automation must be performed through authorized API endpoints.
6. Content Reproduction and Attribution
Reproduction, republication, redistribution, or other reuse of site content, including threat events, must include a public backlink to https://globalthreatsignal.org/ and should be sourced via the API. Any permitted reuse must preserve attribution and must not imply endorsement.
7. Scraping and Automated Harvesting
Unauthorized scraping, crawling, harvesting, or extraction of content outside approved access methods may be monitored, investigated, rate-limited, blocked, and/or referred for legal review. Attempts to bypass security controls, technical protections, or usage limits are prohibited.
8. Security and Availability
We may suspend, modify, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also implement controls to protect infrastructure, users, and data integrity.
9. External Sources and Third-Party Services
The Service may reference external sources or third-party services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, policies, or outcomes.
