World Bank launches Bosnia and Herzegovina Public Finance Review

The World Bank presented a new Public Finance Review for Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo and Banja Luka, outlining fiscal challenges and growth‑oriented reforms.

On March 17, 2026 in Sarajevo and March 18 in Banja Luka, the World Bank held events to present its Public Finance Review for Bosnia and Herzegovina. The report analyzes the country’s fiscal framework, key spending pressures, and options for consolidating public finances while supporting inclusive growth. It highlights the need to strengthen revenue mobilization, improve spending efficiency, and enhance inter‑governmental coordination across the complex governance structure. The launch brought together government officials, civil society, academia, private‑sector representatives, and international partners to discuss priorities such as pension and social‑protection reforms, health‑care financing, and capital‑project selection. The review is intended to inform upcoming budget debates and medium‑term fiscal planning in 2026 and beyond.
