Vietnam environment minister warns air pollution remains unchecked
Vietnam's environment minister flags persistent and worsening air pollution that has not been effectively controlled despite ongoing efforts.
In a year‑end conference reviewing the environment sector's 2021–2025 results and 2026 priorities, Vietnam's Minister of Natural Resources and Environment stated that air pollution continues to evolve in complex ways and has not been effectively controlled. The minister cited weak discipline and administrative integrity in some agencies, underdeveloped disaster‑response and climate‑adaptation systems, and inadequate infrastructure for agriculture, rural development, environmental protection, and climate resilience. The 2026 agenda focuses on strengthening environmental management, climate adaptation, and a green, circular economy.
