Singapore Regrets Failure of Negotiations in Middle East Conflict

Singapore has expressed regret over the failure of negotiations that led to strikes on Iran and retaliatory attacks by Tehran, urging all parties to return to negotiations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Singapore has issued a statement expressing regret over the failure of negotiations that resulted in US and Israeli strikes on Iran, followed by retaliatory attacks by Iran on several Gulf states including Bahrain, Israel, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates. The MFA urged all parties to resume negotiations and find a peaceful resolution in accordance with international law and the principles of the UN Charter. The escalation in the Middle East has significant implications for Singapore, a small and open economy heavily reliant on global trade and stability. The situation has already led to disruptions in the region, including travel advisories and flight cancellations affecting Singaporean airlines.
