Oman has launched a comprehensive SME development plan for 2026–2030 as part of its broader economic diversification strategy under Oman Vision 2040. The plan aims to bolster small and medium enterprises by enhancing access to finance, streamlining regulations, and integrating them into value chains linked to manufacturing, logistics, tourism, and renewable energy. The initiative follows years of steady fiscal improvement, including reduced government debt and a tightened budget deficit, which have created a more stable macroeconomic environment for private sector growth. By supporting SMEs, Oman seeks to strengthen non-oil economic activity, create jobs, and deepen private sector participation in the national economy.
