Launch of a new conservation initiative for the Imperial Amazon, Dominica’s national bird, aimed at strengthening its protection and habitat.
A new conservation project titled “Sisserou Conservation with Civil Society (SCCS)” has been launched in Dominica to strengthen the protection of the Imperial Amazon (Amazona imperialis), the country’s national bird. Implemented by EcoBalance Inc. in collaboration with the regional conservation NGO Caribaea Initiative, the initiative focuses on enhancing habitat conservation, community engagement, and monitoring of this endangered parrot species as part of broader environmental protection efforts in Dominica.
