A regional Lake Chad Basin Conservation Project workshop convened in Chad on April 11, 2026 to advance climate resilience for ecosystems and marginalized communities across six Ramsar sites in the basin. Representatives from Chad, Cameroon, Niger, and international partners reviewed the Lake Development Strategy, focusing on sustainable water resource management, ecosystem restoration, and improved livelihoods for women and youth. The workshop aims to coordinate practical measures to combat desertification, reduce flood risks, and protect biodiversity in the shrinking Lake Chad region.
