Economic growth in Kuwait is expected to gain further momentum next year, after turning positive in H125 (+1.3% y/y) for the first time in two years.
Economic growth in Kuwait is projected to strengthen in the coming year, following a positive performance in the first half of 2025 marked by a 1.3% year-on-year increase in GDP—the first such growth in two years. Higher oil production and improving non-oil sector activity, which grew by 2.5% year-on-year, are key drivers. Major infrastructure projects such as the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port and the Silk City initiative underpin non-oil growth, forecast at 3.3% in 2026 compared to 2.3% in 2025. OPEC+ unwinding of earlier voluntary supply cuts has allowed Kuwait to increase crude output, with 2026 production expected to surpass 2.6 million barrels per day, supporting a 5.7% rise in oil GDP after 2.4% in 2025.
