Kuwait Condemns Iran's Aggression at UN Geneva Session

Kuwait sharply condemned repeated Iranian missile and drone attacks on its territory and its neighbors, calling them an existential threat to regional security and urging the UN to act decisively.

During an emergency session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on March 25, 2026, Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Nasser Al-Hain, delivered a strongly worded statement condemning Iran’s ongoing missile and drone attacks. He cited strikes on critical infrastructure, including Kuwait International Airport and oil facilities, describing them as acts of psychological and physical terrorism against civilians. Kuwait reiterated its commitment to peaceful conflict resolution under the UN Charter but stressed that repeated Iranian aggression left it with the sovereign right to self‑defense under Article 51. The ambassador called on the international community to support a GCC‑drafted resolution condemning Iran’s actions and to treat the situation as an existential threat to regional and international peace.
