Egypt has raised its medical preparedness nationwide to the highest level ahead of severe weather forecast for March 25–26, activating emergency plans in all hospitals and healthcare facilities.
The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population has raised health alert to the maximum level across the country in anticipation of severe weather expected on Wednesday and Thursday, March 25–26, 2026. Hospitals and healthcare facilities have activated emergency plans, reinforcing emergency departments, intensive care units, trauma centers, and ambulance services. The ministry has ensured adequate supplies of essential medicines, medical equipment, blood products, and antivenoms for snake and scorpion bites, while monitoring drinking‑water quality and sanitation to prevent environmental health risks. Emergency operations rooms are operating around the clock, linked to a central control center, with hotlines available for public inquiries and reporting.
