A dengue fever outbreak in Ivory Coast has been reported to continue to increase, affecting multiple regions in the country and resulting in several deaths.
The outbreak of dengue fever first identified in May has been reported to continue to increase, affecting multiple regions in Ivory Coast. Public health authorities first reported cases in April, which were confirmed by an independent laboratory later in the month. Laboratory analyses have identified several serotypes of the dengue virus, and the Ministry of Health of Ivory Coast is conducting mosquito vector control interventions including elimination of breeding sites and treatment of more than 250,000 mosquito larval habitats.
