Cholera cases rise to 16

Cholera outbreak expanding across multiple districts in Malawi.

Public Health Institute of Malawi (Phim) reported that confirmed cholera cases in the country have risen to 16, with new cases confirmed in Blantyre, Mzimba North and Karonga as of early January 2026. The outbreak remains active, with ongoing surveillance and response measures being implemented to control further spread.
