Bundesbank upgrades 2026 German growth outlook
The German Bundesbank has revised its 2026 growth forecast higher, citing stronger fiscal impulse and easing inflationary pressures.
The Deutsche Bundesbank has updated its economic outlook for Germany, raising its GDP growth projection for 2026 to just above 1%. Officials attributed the improvement to larger-than‑expected government spending on infrastructure and defense, which is boosting domestic demand and supporting industrial activity. While inflation is expected to remain slightly above 2% for the year, the central bank signaled that price pressures are gradually easing and should stabilize around target by 2027. The Bundesbank warns, however, that the recovery remains fragile and dependent on sustained policy implementation and global conditions.
