Inflation in Armenia has risen and is nearing the maximum allowable threshold established by the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), which is currently defined as 3% ± 1%. This threshold was previously set at 4% ± 1.5%. The primary driver of inflation in recent months has been a 4.5% increase in food prices. Additional upward pressure comes from rising alcohol and tobacco prices, which grew by 3.4% due to increased excise taxes enforced as part of the Eurasian Economic Union's unified policy. Medication prices also increased by 3.6%, while transportation tariffs rose by 2.6%. These developments indicate a tightening macroeconomic environment and may lead to further regulatory responses or economic instability if not managed effectively.
