Oman enhances cybersecurity amidst rising online incidents
Oman's Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology reports a surge in cybersecurity incidents and strengthens its digital defenses.
In 2023, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) in Oman managed over 460 cybersecurity incidents. The National Digital Forensic Laboratory resolved 241 cybercrime cases, and the Threats Notification and Alert Service issued 86 alerts on potential security threats. The ministry also advanced its technological capabilities, investing over RO31.2 million in artificial intelligence and establishing centers for space technology.
