Tengrinews experiences largest DDoS attack in Kazakhstan

Major DDoS attack targets Tengrinews.kz news website, originating from globally distributed IP addresses.

Starting at 9 a.m., the Tengrinews.kz website was subjected to a massive Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack designed to overwhelm and disable its server infrastructure. The technical team observed that most of the malicious traffic originated from compromised computers and servers located in over 30 countries, including Israel and Western European nations such as France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. The attack was launched from approximately 700 different IP addresses simultaneously, generating malicious traffic exceeding 3 gigabits per second. The Tengrinews technical department, in coordination with Kazakhtelecom’s information systems division, implemented temporary access restrictions limiting the site to Kazakh IP addresses only for the duration of the attack. After the attack concluded, normal access was fully restored and the IP restrictions were removed.
