Measles surge in Kazakhstan spikes again in early 2026
Kazakhstan reports over 1,300 measles infections since start of 2026, overwhelmingly in unvaccinated children.
National Public Health Center figures carried by Kazinform show 1,368 measles cases recorded in Kazakhstan since the beginning of 2026, with 1,218 in children under 14. Around 89% of those infected had not received the measles vaccine, indicating ongoing transmission primarily in under‑immunized groups and a serious pediatric outbreak risk.
