A ransomware attack on Nippon Medical School Musashi Kosugi Hospital targeted the facility’s nurse call system, leading to unauthorized communication with external servers and the theft of patient data. Initial investigation by a response team from the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare confirmed that personal information belonging to about 10,000 patients was leaked.
