One civilian killed after Puntland president's bodyguards opened fire on a vehicle in Garowe.
The bodyguards of Puntland president Saeed Abdullahi Deni opened fire on a vehicle in Garowe, capital of northeastern Somalia’s semi-autonomous region, killing one civilian. The shooting occurred near the city center as the bodyguards escorted the regional president. A young woman, identified as Maryan Ahmed Mohamed, was killed. Witnesses said the shooting followed a vehicle approaching the president’s motorcade. The family and relatives of the victim have demanded justice. Regional authorities have not yet commented officially on the incident.
