New case of foot-and-mouth disease in Dromolaxia – 46 units affected
A new case of foot-and-mouth disease has been confirmed in Dromolaxia, increasing the total number of affected livestock units to 46 and expanding the infected zone.
Cyprus has reported an additional case of foot-and-mouth disease in Dromolaxia within the existing infected zone. Authorities indicated that the total number of affected livestock units has risen to 46 as culling operations continue to contain the outbreak. The European Commission has activated rescEU emergency aid to support response efforts, which include movement restrictions, enhanced biosecurity, and surveillance to prevent further spread of this highly contagious viral disease among cloven-hoofed animals.
