Government advances cybersecurity and cybercrime legislation in Gambia

The Gambia is advancing a Cybersecurity Regulatory Framework and related bills to strengthen cyberspace protection and digital transformation.

The Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy has identified the formulation of a Cybersecurity Regulatory Framework as a priority intervention in 2024. The ministry is also finalising the Cybercrime Bill and the Data Protection and Privacy Bill 2023 to safeguard Gambia’s cyberspace and ensure resilient digital transformation. The government plans to roll out advanced cybersecurity and cybercrime training to support these efforts. These measures are aimed at addressing threats to critical digital infrastructure and improving the country’s resilience against cyber incidents.
