Surge of Influenza A infections across Cyprus has led to widespread illness and hospital strain.
Rising cases of Influenza A have gripped Cyprus in recent weeks, leaving numerous citizens confined to their homes and beds. Dr. Michalis Voniatis described the surge as anticipated, linked to increased social gatherings during the festive season. He emphasized that the situation remains under control but advised vulnerable groups to seek prompt medical attention to prevent complications. Over 120,000 individuals aged 60 and above have been vaccinated this year. Guidelines include staying at home, resting, and using available antiviral medications when appropriate. Public health officials stress that current influenza levels are comparable to the previous year, indicating a manageable but ongoing respiratory threat.
