Health ministry to ascertain presence of community transmission
Health authorities are assessing potential community transmission of a disease following a confirmed case in Bhutan.
The health ministry has initiated investigations to determine if there is any community transmission after a confirmed positive case in a woman in Gelephu Younten Tshedup. Tests on 53 primary and secondary contacts of the 27-year-old woman returned negative on confirmatory RT-PCR tests, limiting immediate evidence of spread but prompting continued monitoring and assessment.
