Teams from the Ministry of Communications and Technology and partner organizations are touring dikgotla across Botswana to educate communities, especially the elderly, on how to recognize and avoid online scams and phishing attempts. The campaign highlights the rise in scams, fraud, and cyber‑attacks targeting individuals and institutions, and emphasizes collective responsibility for cybersecurity in a growing digital economy. The minister notes that cybersecurity is not a luxury but a necessity as Botswana’s digital footprint expands.
