Rising Inflation in Armenia Raises Concerns

According to the World Bank's Armenia Monthly Economic Update for March 2026, inflation in Armenia rose to 4.3% year-on-year in February from 3.8% in January. Food and non-alcoholic beverages accounted for approximately 59% of overall inflation, with prices increasing by 6.5%. The Armenian government's 2026 state budget projects inflation at 3% (±1%), indicating that actual inflation is exceeding targets. The Central Bank's monetary policy report for the fourth quarter of 2025 forecasts inflation to be between 3.8% and 2.6% by the end of 2026 across different scenarios, and 3.3%-2.8% for 2027. This ongoing price pressure on essentials could strain household budgets and potentially impact economic stability if not addressed.
