Cyber Drill sounds alarm on AI, IoT and quantum threats

Botswana hosts a cyber drill highlighting AI, IoT and quantum computing related threats to national infrastructure.

During a four-day cyber drill hosted by the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority and the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams, officials sounded the alarm over emerging cyber threats involving artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) devices and future quantum computing capabilities. The CEO of BOCRA warned that cyber incidents can no longer be treated as isolated IT issues but as national catastrophes that affect citizens, businesses and the functioning of the country. The drill aimed to intensify Botswana’s readiness against these evolving threats.
