Algeria has seen a significant increase in cyberattacks targeting its public sector and critical infrastructure. Authorities have responded by adopting a strengthened cybersecurity framework and establishing dedicated cybersecurity units within public institutions to improve threat anticipation and incident response. In 2024 alone, more than 70 million cyberattacks were detected and blocked in Algeria, placing the country among the most targeted nations globally. The new measures are aimed at protecting information systems, e‑services, and critical infrastructure amid growing digital threats.
