Coordinated Russia vs. Georgia cyber attack in progress

Georgia suffered a coordinated cyber attack targeting government websites and Rustavi2.com, a major Georgian TV station.

The cyber attack involved sustained DDoS attacks that overwhelmed Georgian government servers and the Rustavi2.com website, forcing Rustavi2 to move its web presence to servers hosted in Atlanta to maintain availability. The attack coincided with heightened geopolitical tensions between Russia and Georgia, and was carried out by a mix of botnet-driven attacks and less sophisticated hacktivist activity. The attacks caused significant disruption to online services and media access within Georgia.
