Cybercriminals selling citizens' personal data face trial in Azerbaijan
A court trial has begun for a group of cybercriminals accused of illegally accessing and attempting to sell the personal data of Azerbaijani citizens.
A court trial has been initiated in Azerbaijan for a band of cybercriminals who allegedly hacked into databases of state institutions, including the Ministry of Health (e‑health.gov.az) and the Ministry of Science and Education (miq.edu.az), and attempted to sell citizens’ personal data. The investigation was carried out by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan, which uncovered the unauthorized access and planned data leak, highlighting the scale of the organized cybercrime operation targeting government systems and individual privacy.
