Rising fire risk in Slovenia’s forests due to dry conditions
Hot and dry spring weather has increased the risk of forest fires across Slovenia.
Extended periods of low rainfall and above‑average temperatures have dried out vegetation in forests and grasslands, raising the potential for rapid fire spread. Authorities warn that campfires, discarded cigarettes, and other careless use of open flames could easily ignite fires in these conditions.
