COVID‑19 Special Quarantine Regime Extended in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan has extended its special quarantine regime until July 1, 2026, amid ongoing pandemic‑related public health measures and monitoring.
By decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated March 16, 2026, Azerbaijan has prolonged its special quarantine regime until July 1. The regime was originally set to end on April 1 but has been extended to maintain control over the spread of COVID‑19 and to allow continued monitoring of infection trends. The special quarantine measures were first introduced on March 31, 2020, during the global outbreak of the novel coronavirus. Official statistics indicate more than 835,000 confirmed infections and over 10,400 deaths in the country. The extension reflects ongoing efforts to balance public health safety with socioeconomic activity.
