A hostage-taking incident in Zurich led to three deaths, including two women and the hostage-taker, following a police confrontation.
A serious violent crime occurred in an apartment in the third district of Zurich, where a man took two women hostage. Police were alerted early in the morning, and negotiations followed. The hostage-taker claimed he would surrender, but gunshots were heard shortly after. A special police unit entered the apartment and found three individuals critically injured.
