Cyprus-based fintech firms face rising DDoS attack exposure

Cyprus digital businesses, especially fintech, show increasing exposure to DDoS attacks based on recent cybersecurity research.

A cybersecurity report by Qrator Labs indicates that Cyprus‑based digital businesses face rising exposure to distributed denial‑of‑service (DDoS) attacks. The report finds that practically the majority of global DDoS attacks in the reference period are concentrated in fintech, e‑commerce, IT and media sectors, which are all well represented in Cyprus. The findings highlight that criminal groups are actively seeking to exploit new payment methods and digital‑finance platforms for purposes such as money laundering, obfuscation, theft, extortion and fraud, increasing the risk surface for Cyprus fintech companies.
