RSF clash with SLM-AW in western Jebel Marra
RSF and SLM-AW faction engage in violent clashes in western Jebel Marra, Central Darfur, resulting in dozens killed and wounded.
Dozens of people were killed and wounded in the area of Nierteti in the western part of Jebel Marra, Central Darfur, after violent clashes erupted between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM-AW), led by Abdelwahid El Nur, on Saturday and Sunday. The clashes occurred due to RSF attacks near Nierteti; SLM-AW combatants fiercely battled the RSF for two days, leading to several deaths on both sides as well as among local residents, with many survivors fleeing to the top of the mountains. The clashes stopped on Monday after both sides agreed to form a committee to resolve the matter.
