S'pore's major telcos came under attack by UNC3886 in 2025

State-sponsored cyberespionage group UNC3886 targeted all four major Singapore telcos using a zero-day vulnerability and credential‑stealing malware.

Singapore's four major telecommunications providers—Singtel, StarHub, M1, and Simba Telecom—were targeted by the state-sponsored cyberespionage group UNC3886 in 2025. The group exploited a zero‑day vulnerability and deployed malware such as Medusa to steal credentials and gain access to internal telco systems, exfiltrating technical data related to the telecom infrastructure. Operation Cyber Guardian was launched in response, and Singapore implemented measures including enhanced detection, network redesign, and purple teaming exercises to strengthen resilience against further attacks on critical communications infrastructure.
