Kuwait busts cybercrime ring

Kuwait authorities dismantle an international cybercrime syndicate targeting telecommunications and financial institutions.

Kuwait's Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of an international cybercrime syndicate of Chinese nationals involved in large-scale cyberattacks on telecommunications towers and banks. The cybercrime combat department uncovered an elaborate scheme aimed at breaching networks and stealing financial data. During questioning, the suspect admitted to working with accomplices to breach communication networks and conduct financial fraud. Investigations led to the identification and arrest of the remaining members of the cybercrime ring. Biometric fingerprint scans revealed discrepancies in their identities, exposing their use of forged documents to evade detection. The suspects have been referred to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings, and the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to combating cyber threats and protecting Kuwait's financial and digital infrastructure.
