Barbados issues statement on emerging conflict in the Middle East
Barbados expresses deep concern over escalating hostilities in the Middle East and calls for restraint and diplomatic solutions.
The Government of Barbados has issued a statement expressing concern over the escalation of hostilities in the Middle East and outlining guidance for Barbadians in the affected region. The Government and people of Barbados are deeply concerned by the escalation of hostilities and the potential impact on international peace and security in the region. Barbados joins the United Nations Secretary General António Guterres in condemning the military escalation and calls on all Member States to respect their commitments under international law. The country also joins the Gulf Cooperation Council Member States and other affected countries in the region in calling for restraint and a return to dialogue and diplomatic solutions. Barbados regrets the loss of innocent lives in this emerging conflict and expresses its deepest sympathy to the loved ones of those affected, while praying for peace and stability to return to the region.
