The Central Bank of The Bahamas has cautioned that if the ongoing war involving Iran becomes protracted, it could materially undermine The Bahamas’ 2026 growth prospects. The institution highlighted that while the country’s $2.898bn foreign currency reserves offer a cushion against rising fuel import costs, prolonged geopolitical conflict in the Middle East poses a substantial external risk to the Bahamian economy.
