Israel ranks 1st among countries targeted by geopolitical cyberattacks in 2025 report

Israel has become the most attacked country in the world by geopolitically motivated hackers and malicious actors in 2025, according to an Israeli cybersecurity firm's report.

Israel was the most targeted country globally by geopolitically motivated hackers and malicious actors in 2025, as its multifront wars with Hamas and Iran and its proxies spurred a spike in cyberattacks. The annual global cyber threat analysis report by the Israeli cybersecurity firm Radware shows that Israel suffered 1,881 unique attack claims in 2025, up from 1,550 a year earlier. The report highlights that government services were the primary target for hacktivists, accounting for 38.8% of all claimed attacks, and notes that generative AI tools are enabling attackers with limited resources to launch large-scale, automated campaigns. Israeli cyber defense officials have warned of an increasing risk of a full-scale cyber war, amid hundreds of Iranian cyberattacks on Israeli officials, academics, and journalists detected and foiled in recent months.
