Azerbaijan’s State Security Service (SSS) has uncovered a massive conspiracy in which several Azerbaijani citizens, including Mehdiyev Ramiz Enver oglu, Abbasov Abbas Aydin oglu, and Kerimli Ali Amirhuseyn oglu, are suspected of acts aimed at the violent seizure of power and alteration of the constitutional order with assistance from foreign intelligence agencies. Several suspects are also charged with treason and large‑scale money laundering. According to the SSS, by October 13, 2025, Ramiz Mehdiyev had legalized funds exceeding 17,000,000 manats obtained through criminal means. The case is being prosecuted under multiple articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including provisions on treason and money laundering of large‑scale property.
