Major gang crackdown in southern Lebanon
Internal security forces dismantle armed criminal network stealing from homes, shops, and currency offices in southern and Mount Lebanon regions.
Lebanese Internal Security Forces announced the dismantling of one of the most dangerous armed robbery gangs operating in southern and Mount Lebanon regions. The gang targeted residential homes, currency exchange offices, and jewelry stores, traveling across regions to conduct thefts before fleeing to Syria and re‑entering later. Investigators identified and arrested several suspects, including Lebanese nationals linked to previous theft networks, and seized cash, phones, and vehicles. Authorities described the operation as a significant disruption to a violent network involved in repeated break‑ins and robberies across multiple towns.
