Monaco launches a 24‑hour coastal cleanup initiative across its shoreline to combat marine debris and plastic pollution, mobilising volunteers and local authorities.
Monaco has kicked off a round‑the‑clock beach and coastal cleanup campaign along its entire shoreline, marking one of the principality’s most intensive anti‑pollution drives. Local authorities, environmental NGOs and hundreds of volunteers are rotating in shifts to remove plastic waste, fishing debris and other litter from beaches and nearshore waters. The initiative aims to reduce marine pollution entering the Mediterranean, protect marine life and improve water quality for residents and visitors. Organisers say the operation will be accompanied by public awareness activities and monitoring of collected waste to guide future prevention policies.
