On the morning of 31 March 2026, four armed assailants stopped a medicine‑laden pickup van at gunpoint on National Highway‑2 near Chouparan in Hazaribag district, Jharkhand. The criminals forced the driver and helper out, seized cash, mobile phones and the vehicle along with its pharmaceutical cargo, and sped away. Local police launched an immediate search operation, tracked the van using information and CCTV, and within two hours apprehended all four suspects. Authorities recovered Rs 21,300 in cash, several mobile phones, the van, the medicines, and the weapons used in the robbery as investigations continue.
