World Bank Approves $200 Million Economic Transformation Loan for Armenia
The World Bank has approved a $200 million Development Policy Operation to support Armenia's economic transformation and competitiveness reforms, with additional financing from the OPEC Fund.
On March 30, 2026, the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors approved a $200 million (EUR 170.3 million) Economic Transformation Development Policy Operation for Armenia. The program supports a broad set of reforms aimed at modernizing Armenia’s investment and business climate, strengthening competition and consumer protections, and building resilience into fiscal and regulatory systems. Parallel financing of up to $92.8 million from the OPEC Fund brings the total package to about $290 million (EUR 250 million). The operation is designed to help Armenia become a more competitive, globally integrated, and low‑emission economy, enhancing conditions for inclusive growth and private‑sector led development.
