Public Health Emergency Preparedness Assessment Completed in Liechtenstein

Liechtenstein successfully finishes its first PHEPA assessment in Vaduz, evaluating national readiness for health crises with international experts.

Liechtenstein’s Office of Public Health, in collaboration with experts from the European network for public health, has completed the country’s first comprehensive Public Health Emergency Preparedness Assessment (PHEPA) in Vaduz. Between 2 and 6 March 2026, an international team, including representatives from ECDC, WHO, and the European Commission, analyzed Liechtenstein’s systems for detecting, responding to, and managing health emergencies. The assessment aimed to benchmark national preparedness, identify strengths, and pinpoint areas for improvement in crisis planning and coordination. The results will inform future policy, investment, and capacity‑building measures to strengthen Liechtenstein’s public health resilience and response to infectious disease outbreaks and other health emergencies.
