IMF 2026 Article IV review sets Kosovo growth outlook

IMF concludes 2026 Article IV consultation for Kosovo, projecting 3.8 percent growth and gradual inflation decline, with risks tied to politics and external factors.

The IMF staff concluded its 2026 Article IV consultation for Kosovo, assessing that political stability should support growth rebound to about 3.8 percent in 2026, converging toward 4 percent over the medium term. Inflation is expected to ease toward 2 percent as implemented reforms and improved external financing take hold. The external current account deficit will first rise with higher energy imports before gradually narrowing. Risks remain tilted to the downside from political uncertainty, tensions in northern Kosovo and adverse global conditions, while faster implementation of the EU Growth Plan could lift growth beyond these projections.
