The National Police of Panama stepped up operations across neighborhoods, roads, and communities in an effort to combat organized crime and enhance public safety. Within a 72-hour period, authorities carried out numerous raids and executed 159 search warrants, seizing 14 packages of suspected drugs, 10 firearms, and 50 rounds of ammunition. In addition, more than 817 individuals were apprehended, while the traffic division issued 3,900 traffic tickets, including fines for speeding, improper lighting, and driving under the influence. A total of 519 vehicles were towed due to irregularities, underscoring the police’s focus on both criminal and traffic enforcement. Authorities indicated that such operations will continue as part of a broader strategy to dismantle criminal structures and restore calm to heavily affected areas.
