IMF projects strong growth for Dominica in 2026
The International Monetary Fund projects Dominica's economy to grow by over four percent in 2026, supported by tourism recovery and strategic infrastructure investments.
The International Monetary Fund has projected that Dominica's economy will grow by more than four percent in 2026, driven by a continued recovery in stayover tourism and ongoing investments in priority infrastructure projects. The IMF highlighted that growth is also supported by expansion in agriculture and other key sectors.
Dominica is increasingly leveraging its geothermal energy potential to reduce reliance on imported fuel and support long‑term competitiveness.
The IMF report also urged the government to pursue more ambitious fiscal consolidation to lower public debt and strengthen resilience against natural disasters, while maintaining its Vulnerability, Risk and Resilience Fund at adequate levels.
