Tonga Women in ICT (TWICT) hosted the National ICT Expo 2025 at Queen Salote Memorial Hall in Nuku’alofa. The event, themed “Empowering a Resilient Digital Tonga,” brought together tech leaders, government officials, and community members to discuss Tonga’s digital future. Acting Prime Minister Hon. Taniela Fusimalohi officially launched TWICT’s new website, emphasizing the importance of inclusive digital services. The U.S. Embassy and Acting Australian High Commissioner Erin Gleeson attended, underscoring international support for Tonga’s digital growth. Panels, including one on “Reporting in the Brave New World: The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Press Freedom and the Media,” highlighted the role of technology in shaping Tonga’s economy and society. The expo showcased ICT services and innovations, emphasizing women’s participation in technology.
