Rwanda records strong 2025 trade and growth figures
Rwanda reports 9.4% GDP growth in 2025 and robust trade expansion, with exports rising by over 11% and imports up about 6%, supported by industrial and export policies.
Rwanda announced that its economy grew by 9.4% in 2025, surpassing the 7.0% target, driven by strong performance in services, construction, and coffee exports. The National Bank and National Institute of Statistics highlighted that international trade performed well, with exports increasing by 11.4% and imports by 5.8%. Key exports included coffee, minerals and other goods, while imports focused on petroleum products, sugar and rice. The central bank assesses that stable currency conditions and targeted industrialization policies under the National Strategy for Transformation II have supported this trade growth and overall economic resilience.
